Hello everyone,

I wanted to send out an update about one of our seed cleaning partners, the Dorena Genetic Resources Center. They have been waiting for some key equipment to arrive and though this equipment was delayed several months it sounds like they should have it by the beginning of the new year. I know that in the fall many of you indicated that some of the collections being sent to Dorena had uses in the spring, but I haven't received any clearance forms yet. In our conversation last week the folks at Dorena asked for clearance forms to be sent in ASAP so they can see what their capacity is to meet spring requests.

Please send in any clearance forms you have to request 2024 seed back from the Dorena GRC ASAP so we can get an estimate of their capacity and to help them prioritize cleaning needs. If you do not request the seed back for use by May 1st please do not submit a clearance form. It will be safely stored and tracked with the rest of the SOS inventory.

For collections elsewhere, the clearance form deadline is still January 30th for materials that will be needed by May 1st 2025. Any collections without a clearance form after January 30th OR that wouldn't be needed until after May 1st can still be requested for use, but through a different process.

For the seeds,

Sarah
