Seeds of Success (SOS) E-mail List Instructions

This list is used to discuss the Seeds of Success project. You must be subscribed to the list in order to "post" or send a message out to all the subscribers. Anyone is allowed to subscribe to the group, so if you know of someone who is interested, feel free to tell them about the list. Please note that this list (sos) is different than the main Plant Conservation Alliance list (native-plants), the Medicinal Plant Working Group list (mpwg), the Restoration Working Group list (rwg) and the Alien Plant Working Group list (apwg).

The following are a few basic instructions on how to use the list.

How to subscribe to the list:

Send an e-mail to sos-request@lists.plantconservation.org with the following information in the body of the message (not the title):

SUBSCRIBE

You will then receive an e-mail that you will need to reply to in order to confirm your subscription. After you confirm your subscription, another e-mail will be sent with instructions on how to use the list.

How to unsubscribe from the list:

Send an e-mail to sos-request@lists.plantconservation.org with the following information in the body of the message (not the title):

UNSUBSCRIBE

Note:
This should be done from the address with which you subscribed. If you have any problems doing so, just send an e-mail to the SOS Curator, sehill@blm.gov, and she will be able to assist you.

How to post a message to the list:

Compose the title and body of your message like usual and send it to sos@lists.plantconservation.org (the list address). The message will be viewed by a moderator and then automatically be sent out to all subscribers. Please remember to limit the subject matter of your post to things that pertain to the Seeds of Success project.

How to view archived messages from the list:

Just go to http://cpanel.wispme.com/pipermail/sos_lists.plantconservation.org/ to see older list messages.

Using SOS
To post a message to all the list members, send email to sos@lists.plantconservation.org.

You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.

Subscribing to SOS

Subscribe to SOS by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This is a private list, which means that the list of members is not available to non-members.

    You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext.

    If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription. You can always request a mail-back of your password when you edit your personal options.
