Hello All -

The Foundation for America's Public Lands<https://americaslands.org/>, the official charitable partner of BLM, is standing up a Drought Resilience Program in the Colorado River Basin.

As a part of the Program, the Foundation's Board recently approved developing a BLM-Tribal partnership around native seed and plants in the Basin, centered on investments in Tribal capacity.

To carry out the first step of this effort, the Foundation is seeking to hire a short-term, part-time Tribal consultant to begin conversations with Tribal Nations that may have an interest in developing a project proposal for subsequent Foundation funding.

Please help me circulate this request for applications for a Tribal consultant among your network of colleagues?

Interested applicants should reach out to Gina Anstey at gina.anstey at americaslands.org and Laura Ziemer at lziemer at culpkelly.law.

This effort is described in more detail in the attached scope of work.

"Consultant Selection and Engagement:

The Foundation is seeking a consultant well-versed in similar tribal initiatives and with expertise in native plant programs and seed cultivation, and a willingness to bridge tribal seed sovereignty with enhancing the drought resilience of BLM-managed lands and waters. Preference will be given to consultants who are, themselves, Tribal members.

Timeline:

The Foundation would like to begin work immediately (May) to support the development of a seed sovereignty initiative. The nature of this work will be exploratory, and the timeline driven by the interest and capacity of Tribal partners. The Foundation will work with the Tribal Consultant to develop and modify a project timeline to develop the final funding request consistent with the scope of work below. "

Thank you for passing the opportunity to potential candidates,
Adrienne
