I wanted to reach out and pass along information on the CBG Seeds of Success positions we’ll be looking to hire for the 2023 field season. We don’t have the positions yet posted with HR for applications, but please let me know if you’re interested in a particular position and if you have any questions. Please also pass along this email to folks in your network who you think may be interested!

CLM Internships with US Forest Service. While these 18 positions will primarily involve Seeds of Success work, interns will have a FS biologist mentor, office access, and potentially FS bunkhouse housing opportunities.

  *   Bitterroot NF – Hamilton, MT: probably early June – early November 2023
  *   Flathead NF – Kalispell, MT: 6/5 – 11/3/23
  *   Beaverhead – Deerlodge NF: Dillon, MT: 6/5 – 11/3/23
  *   Helena – Lewis & Clark – Helena, MT: probably early June – early November 2023
  *   (2 interns) Multi NFs – Ft. Collins, CO: probably early June – early November 2023
  *   (2 interns) Manti La Sal NF – Price, UT: probably mid-May – mid October 2023
  *   (2 interns) Payette/Boise NFs – McCall, ID: probably mid-May – mid October 2023
  *   (2 interns) Caribou/Targhee NFs – Idaho Falls, ID: probably mid-May – mid October 2023
  *   (2 interns) Colville NF – Tonasket, WA: 5/15 – 10/13/23
  *   (2 interns) Tongass NF – Ketchikan, AK: 6/5 – 10/13/23
  *   (2 interns) Chugach NF – Moose Pass, AK: 6/5 – 10/13/23

Seed collection crews on Bureau of Land Management contracts. There is usually no unaccompanied access to BLM office buildings for these crews, but CBG will supply all needed vehicles, supplies, and storage needed.

  *   Eastern Mojave Seed Collection
     *   1 Lead Botanist and 1 Field Technician
     *   Location: likely St. George, UT
        *   Scouting and making operational seed collections in the BLM Arizona Strip, Caliente, Kingman, and St. George Field Offices, as well as Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument
     *   Term: 1/30 – 11/30/23
  *   Southern Nevada Botanical Services and Seed Collection
     *   1 Field Technician
     *   Location: Las Vegas, NV
        *   Scouting and making operational collections in the BLM Southern Nevada District Office.
     *   Term: 2/26 – 7/28/23
  *   Great Basin Seed Collection
     *   1 Senior Botanist (Master’s Degree required), 4 Lead Botanists, and 4 Field Technicians
     *   Locations:
        *   Senior Botanist located in Great Basin area, able to assist crews with field work
        *   2 crews of 1 Lead Botanist and 1 Field Technician each in Nevada, could be based in Battle Mountain, Elko, Ely, Winnemucca
           *   Scouting and making operational collections in the BLM Tonopah, Caliente, Bristlecone, Wells, and Tuscarora Field Offices
        *   1 crew of 1 Lead Botanist and 1 Field Technician in Idaho, likely based in Boise area
           *   Scouting and making operational collections in the BLM Bruneau and Owyhee Field Offices
        *   1 crew in of 1 Lead Botanist and 1 Field Technician in Utah, likely based in Cedar City
           *   Scouting and making operational collections in the BLM Cedar City, Richfield, Fillmore, and Salt Lake Field Offices
     *   Term: 4/10 – 10/6/23
  *   Colorado Plateau Seed Collection
     *   1 Lead Botanist and 1 Field Technician
     *   Location: Price, UT
        *   Scouting and making operational seed collections in the BLM Price Field Office
     *   Term: 4/3 – 10/13/23
  *   Arizona Strip Seed Collection
     *   1 Senior Botanist (Master’s Degree required) and 1 Field Technician
     *   Location: likely St. George, UT
        *   Scouting and making operational seed collections in the BLM Arizona Strip District Office
     *   Term: 3/27 – 9/22/23

  *   Region 3: Upper Midwest
     *   3 Field Technicians
     *   Location: Based out of Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe, IL
        *   Scouting and making seed collections at USFWS Refuges in the upper Midwest
