This month the Plant Conservation Alliance (PCA) Federal Committee launched a call for information on work undertaken from 2015 to 2020 that addresses or highlights our native plant materials and restoration needs. This will inform progress under the National Seed Strategy for Rehabilitation and Restoration<https://www.blm.gov/sites/blm.gov/files/program_natural%20resources_seed%20strategy_quick%20link_seed%20stregy.pdf> (National Seed Strategy).
While the National Seed Strategy is plant-focused, the direct correlations between wildlife and pollinator habitat/forage needs means that many wildlife and wildlife habitat-related projects qualify for inclusion in the National Seed Strategy 2015-2020 Report.
Respondents do not need to be well-versed in the National Seed Strategy to report progress -- the reporting form will walk you through it. Any basic or applied research that aims to improve ecological restoration in the United States or to develop tools or resources that assist land managers in making informed habitat decisions counts.
Please use the link below to submit a project. Please also share this email, and the attached launch document, with your federal colleagues and federal partners to consider submitting information on any relevant projects conducted, funded, or supported in any way, by the September 1 deadline.
Report your National Seed Strategy wildlife projects through the reporting portal<https://www.usgs.gov/center-news/national-seed-strategy-report>.
If you have questions or trouble accessing the portal, see attached email for more information.
