The University of Idaho is offering two courses in plant and soil
monitoring in Fall 2013, which are designed to be taken together. We have
developed these courses so that individuals may take them remotely. REM 410
is the lecture-based online portion, while REM 411 provides a field trip to
gain field experience in monitoring, as well as a remote lab to work on
data analysis.
Classes begin August 26th. Note remote students only need to attend an
in-person field trip Sept. 5-8 for REM411. Students are responsible for
transportation to either Moscow or Boise, ID. Instructors will facilitate
further transportation to the field sites in west-central Idaho near
Council. Remote students will also be required to connect via phone or
Internet for the lab on Tuesdays from 3:30-5:20 Pacific Time. Note,
students located in Boise, ID, also have the opportunity to join a live lab
on Tuesdays. Material from REM410 can be worked on according to the
student's own schedule.
Please note there is a basic statistics course requirement for REM411. If
you have taken a statistics course other than the STAT251 at the University
of Idaho, please contact us and we can override the restriction. Please
visit http://www.uidaho.edu/registrar for more information on registration,
catalogs, and schedules.
We are committed to making this opportunity available to a broad audience.
If you have any questions, please contact Beth Newingham (beth at uidaho.edu)
or Karen Launchbaugh (klaunchb at uidaho.edu).
