Red Butte Garden (UT930) has just been assigned these two species of seven
I reviewed for them. Most of us know Stenotus acaulis by its old name:
Happlopappus acaulis, but please remember to use the Kartesz names on all
of your data sheets. Stenotus acaulis is a fairly widespread species, it
looks like it could be in up to a dozen different ecoregions in the west,
so other collectors may want to get this one for Bend and they can send it
on to Pullman.

Several of the species Red Butte just asked about sending to Kew were taken
by other teams, including Gaillardia parryi and Calochortus aureus (UT030)
, Lupinus sparsiflorus (AZ930), and Helianthus petiolaris (Chicago Botanic
Garden). Matthew or someone else from the Red Butte may want to negotiate
a trade. Helianthus petiolaris is another species with a huge range, that
could be collected in several of the western ecoregions it is found in for
the US collection since Chicago will send a Midwestern population to Kew.

One of the species Red Butte requested, Gaillardia pinnatidifa was
collected in the US prior to BLM and Kew working together so half of the
seeds of that species will not be coming to the US. I've asked Red Butte
to collect that one and send it to Bend/Pullman.
