North Carolina Botanical Garden Curatorial Specialist - Contributing

*Overview: THIS IS A TIME LIMITED POSITION



The Conservation Grower will work as part of the Conservation team to
implement a native plant materials development program at the North
Carolina Botanical Garden. The purpose of this program is to provide both
whole plant and bulk seed resources for use in the restoration of native
plant communities at the North Carolina Botanical Garden and throughout the
southeastern United States. The primary duties of the Conservation Grower
include propagation of native plants, maintenance of nursery space and seed
facilities, creation and upkeep of seed increase plots, collection and
processing of seeds, and assisting with curation of a seedbank. The
Conservation Grower will be responsible for working with volunteers,
keeping detailed records and documentation of best practices and
representing the North Carolina Botanical Garden in outreach and education.

*Location: North Carolina Botanical Garden, Chapel Hill, NC



*Compensation: $38,000 - $40,500



*Who may apply: Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of
assignment and one year of experience that demonstrates possession of the
competencies necessary to perform the work; or equivalent combination of
training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately
accredited institutions.
