**NATIVE PLANT CONSERVATION CAMPAIGN **
ACTION ALERT
*********************************

Apologies to those who have already received this information.

During the month of April, you can sign the 2006 Aveda Earth Month Petition
to save plants and the Endangered Species Act.
Go to https://www.aveda.com/templates/petitions/usa.tmpl or click the "Aveda
Earth Month 2006" button on the Native Plant Conservation Campaign website:
www.plantsocieties.org to sign the petition online.

The petition's message is "Save Plants. Save Yourself". It also asks
Congress to save the Endangered Species Act, so that we can save plants (and
fish and wildlife!) from extinction.

The petition asks the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives to stop
legislation that would weaken, probably demolish, the Endangered Species Act
- one of this nation's most effective and popular environmental laws. The
petition focuses on the need to preserve the law to protect plants, the
foundations of ecosystems and of human economies and societies. The ESA has
saved more than 99% of listed species from extinction and costs taxpayers of
less than 50 cents/yr.

*	Make your voice heard.
*	Sign the petition.
*	**Get involved!**
