The Schultes Award was created at the 2001 Council Meeting, to honor the
late Richard E. Schultes. The award is to be presented annually to students
or young professionals (5 years or less post-doctoral experience) for
conductng field
research.

Call for Proposals

The Society for Economic Botany announces the offering of an annual
research award of up to $5,000.00. The award
is intended to help pay the costs of field work on a topic related to

members who have received their doctorate within the last 5 years.
Applicants will be judged by
an ad-hoc committee of Society members and awards
will be granted by June 30 each year. Proposals should include:

1) a letter, not more than two pages in length, describing the proposed
project,
2) an overall budget in which it is stated how Society funds will be spent,

3) a letter from the major professor of the student in which the current
status of the student in a graduate program is established, and
