As I understand it, the new law is not tied to the official USDA noxious
weed list despite the nomenclatural confusion. Rob Hedberg may
have more on this. Cheers

While this bill was still in process I happened (on the net) on a list of the plants of concern. Not only was the list relatively short, but I did not recognize one plant on the list. No knapweed, no star thistle, no purple loosestrife. I wrote for more information and got a very terse letter back telling me that these were agricultural weeds of concern, and that the list had been carefully thought out. Can't seem to find the list on the net anymore. Can anyone corroborate my story? I do hope I'm wrong.

I'm assuming you mean the one enacted last year....The US Code citation is also below.... NOXIOUS WEED CONTROL AND ERADICATION[[Page 118 STAT. 2320]]Public Law 108-412 An Act To require the Secretary of Agriculture to establish a program to provide assistance to eligible weed management entities to control or eradicate noxious weeds on public and private land. <<NOTE: Oct. 30, 2004 - [S. 144]>> Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,SECTION 1.
