[SOS-PCA] 2024 SOS Wrapup and 2025 registration

Happy 2025!

The new year is here and with it a final round of announcements about the 2024 season. I am so grateful for all of you who have been involved in SOS over the last year and look forward to 2025.

2024 Clearance forms - Please use the appropriate clearance form from the sos website, blm.gov/SOS

January 30th is the last day to turn in clearance forms for any 2024 seed wanted back before May 1st. After May 1st, all unrequested seed will be moved to storage, and will need a seed order form to be requested back.

For collections at the Bend Seed Extractory, we are full with our February and March return requests. You may still send clearance forms, but material will not be tested and shipped until April.


Final 2024 seed and voucher shipping

  *
Our holiday/new year shipping freeze is over, so please send any outstanding Smithsonian vouchers or NLGRP destined seeds as soon as possible. For NLGRP seeds, make sure to follow the shipping instructions and make a seed tracking form.

Final Data Edits and Decommissioning Geoplatform Groups

We are conducting our final data QC reviews -  if you are contacted with data questions please be ready to respond asap.

Geoplatform groups will be decommissioned from January 24th -  February 9th. After that you will no longer have access to the 2024 Geoplatform group.


2025 Collection Teams

If you are planning a 2025 collection team and have not confirmed details of this team with your Agency Coordinator please do so ASAP! The locations and start times of collection teams inform training dates and locations, and are essential to ensuring proper communication throughout the season.

2025 SOS signup and Geoplatform Groups

  *
If you are participating in SOS in 2025, please sign up for our communications list, collector calls, and the new GeoPlatform if you will be collecting/editing data for 2025. Everyone will need to re-register for geoplatform access using the registration form. You will not need to create a new user name. Register here: https://forms.office.com/g/YsX0XSyTRC

2025 Trainings

We are in the process of scheduling 2025 trainings based on the start dates for 2025 collection teams. We have three early season trainings on the books, to register please use this form: https://forms.office.com/g/PXwr0yGK3g . If you have additional training needs in March or April, please contact Sarah Hill, sehill at blm.gov. For all in person trainings, participants will need to cover their own travel and meal costs.

February 28 - May 1. In person, Tuscon, AZ. Training will take place at the Desert Research Learning Center. Interested parties should contact Sarah Hill, sehill at blm.gov for more information.

March 5, 6 Virtual.

     *
April 29 - May 1. In person, Boise, ID. Training C. BLM State Office. Interested parties should contact Sarah Hill, sehill at blm.gov for more information. Additional registration will be needed through DOI talent.
