Seed Collection Techniques
*
We are beginning to compile information on tools/techniques that are useful for certain species, genera, or seed types. If you have a document with this information, or are interested in documenting your efforts this season, please send the document out on the SOS listerv so that others can benefit from it. Additionally, please send it to Sarah Hill, so she can compile the information and make it available for collectors in the future.
Non-SOS forms and data management
*
Non-sos forms aren’t going to be in the data management stuff, collectors must edit in Survey123 or Geoplatform data tab
2024 seed cleaning updates
*
Dorena GRC has had some equipment issues and completing 2023 collections and taking 2024 collections is delayed. Interagency/BIL-BAR material can go to Bend (If your team name has a ‘D’ in front of it) and Alaska collections can go to Palmer PMC. All other teams please hold onto right now until further notice. Thank you for your patience, we will have a contingency plan in place soon.
*
If you have collected fleshy fruit that will need cleaning ASAP, send to Bend Seed Extractory regardless of team code.
*
Cleaning facilities – still TBD. Do not ship until you are sure!
*
Also remember seed tracking form!
*
All AK – Palmer PMC
*
All Interagency/BIL-BAR: Bend Seed Extractory
*

It takes ~ 1 week to get fully onboarded. Collectors will submit their ROB and the Sign-Up form, Kristy will submit a remedy ticket, the NOC will elevate permissions in 1-7 days, the preseason activity is completed, then collectors are added to their regional group
*
Please make sure to delete the pre-season forms from your tablet once you get added to your groups so that you are not collecting or scouting on the pre-season forms

We will be doing a spot QC this month and will talk about common data issues in July call
