The BLM-NM State Botany lead position is open as a detail NTE 1 year position. Botany/ecology is a scarce skill and this position is 1 of 3 botany/ecology positions in BLM-NM. There are several rare plants in oil and gas offices that require strategic planning. The position works with many partners such as Institute for Applied Ecology, USGS, NatureServe, Heritage, etc.  We just developed a flora data standard that requires management, oversight, and field training.
