Hi all,
Welcome back to those who were furloughed, and please let me know if you
need anything from the National Office. We are still accepting clearance
forms from the 2018 season until January 31st. After that you may submit a
seed request form. Please let me know if you need copies of these forms.
During the shutdown, the Smithsonian had to turn away any shipped herbarium
vouchers. These should have been returned to the originating address,
please let me know if these were not returned to your office. *The
Smithsonian is now accepting shipments until February 15th, please ship
your vouchers if you still have them.*
*The February SOS call is cancelled.* Please use this time to plan for the
2018 collecting season and let me know if you have any questions or need
any help.
The monthly calls will resume in March as the new field season begins.
Anyone planning to make SOS collections in 2019 should attend these calls.
If you need the conference line please email me individually (
lprescott at blm.gov).
Just as a reminder, the calls take place at:
8 AM Alaska
9 AM Pacific
10 AM Mountain
11 AM Central
Noon Eastern
*Training:* The DOI Course: Seed Collecting For Restoration and
Conservation is scheduled for May 14-16 in Boise, ID. Please contact Lori
Young (lyoung at blm.gov) with any questions. Anyone making an SOS collection
should be trained in the protocol.
Please let me know if there are any topics you would like to see covered in
this season's monthly calls and feel free to reach out with any questions.
Best,
Leah
