Experimental Station in Ontario, OR)
This 2 day course will provide a history of the Native Plant Materials
Development Program (NPMDP) and teach the Seeds of Success (SOS) protocol
for collection, shipping, and storage of native wildland seed collections.
Material covered includes the development of a targeted species list, seed
sampling strategies, field preparedness, a native plant taxonomy review,
evaluating seed ripeness, collecting voucher specimens, post-collection
seed care and restoration and rehabilitation concepts. A field component
will reinforce classroom discussion topics.
