Questions about the SOS process & paperwork

- Clearance forms – All clearance forms must be routed through the
National Coordinating Office (mahaidet at blm.gov), please also be sure to
provide ALL requested in formation, including FedEx code and intended use
of material

o Please provide more than 30 days processing time for Bend to return
seed, SOS is not the only client that uses the Bend Seed Extractory

o Do not rush return requests unless there is an immanent need for the
seed

- Data sheets – Please remember the seed collection reference number
is the full, unique code for each collection and should follow the exact
format outlined in the Technical Protocol (ex: UT080-519, WY070-237,
CBG-3275). The collector code is your team code (ex: UT080, WY070, CBG) and
the collection number is the sequential number of collection that team has
made for SOS over time. Note, you should note begin from 1 each year.

Bend Update

after October 1st

Smithsonian Update

- Vouchers that have been sent in look good
- They do NOT need data sheets with voucher specimens
- Send unmounted with label
- Ship seed in newspaper with cardboard, try to find a box that fits
exactly, if not add padding so the specimens aren’t damaged
