SOS Monthly Collectors' Call

July 10, 2012


There were 27 participants on the call.


Updates/Reminders from the National Office:

Please use the updated data sheet; it was revised in March 2012 and is available on the SOS website.

Please send your seed data to Megan throughout the year.  We'd like to start entering data gradually throughout the year.

Shipping details:

Multiple collections may be shipped in a single box.

Collection reference number should be marked on the shipping boxed and on individual seed bags.

Do not staple field data sheets to the bags.  You can send them in a stack, clipped together.

If there are collections coming in multiple boxes, please call Bend ahead to let .



Bend Seed Extractory:

Packaging and in house testing for last year's collections will be finished in the next 10 days.

They are already beginning to process 2012 collections.



National Training Center:

2013 Seed Collection for Conservation and Restoration Course will be held in Boise, ID, May 14-16, plus an optional field trip on the 17th.

General consensus from the field is that is it going to be a difficult year for seed collection due to drought conditions in most of the west.
