Dr. Tom Bonnicksen's has worked over 30 years on the history and
restoration of North America's native forests. He is currently a
professor of forest science and a former Department Head at Texas A&M
University. He has published over 100 scientific and technical papers,
articles, book chapters, and other publications, 6 computer programs,
three multimedia CDs, as well as numerous editorials for newspapers
throughout the United States. He is the author of "America's Ancient
Forests: from the Ice Age to the Age of Discovery." (Copyright 2000, 594
pages). Dr. Bonnicksen helped produce a one-hour PBS television special
titled Forest Wars, and has appeared on FOX, CSPAN, PBS, CNN, NBC, CBS,
ABC. Dr. Bonnicksen received the Bush Presidential Library Foundation
Excellence in Public Service Award as the first recipient. He is
co-founder of the International Society for Ecological Restoration and a
former member of its board of directors. He is a member of the Society
of American Foresters.
