Native Plant Conservation Campaign News: NPCC welcomes the Center for Plant Conservation as our 56th Affiliate!

June 22, 2020

The Center for Plant Conservation <https://saveplants.org/> (CPC) is the latest NPCC Affiliate group <https://plantsocieties.cnps.org/index.php/about-main/affiliates-cooperators> . CPC is a network of botanic gardens and other science and conservation partners, now including more than 60 institutions, that <https://ymlps4.com/imgz/09yp_CPCFeaturedPlants.jpg> collaboratively works to save the imperiled plants of the United States and Canada.

CPC maintains the CPC National Collection of Endangered Plants <https://saveplants.org/national-collection/> , a living conservation collection of imperiled plants, by working to:

*	collect and manage living seeds and plants,
*	advance our understanding of threats as well as means to save these species, and
*	by communicating with partners within the CPC network to ensure that all are using the best and most up-to-date means possible to Save Plants.

To date, they now have over one third of North American imperiled plants (1,500 of 4,400 kinds) secured in the CPC National Collection <https://saveplants.org/national-collection/> .

CPC publishes a monthly newsletter <https://saveplants.org/2020/06/10/june-2020-news/> and have published the CPC Best Plant Conservation Practices to Support Species Survival in the Wild <https://saveplants.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/CPC-Best-Practices-5.22.2019.pdf> .

Their pollinator database <https://saveplants.org/national-collection/pollinator-search/> shows the pollinators associated with a plant species and the reference links to the literature cited.
