In northwestern Minnesota, where little remains of its original tallgrass prairie landscapes, an interagency collaboration is enabling The Nature Conservancy and partners to dramatically increase the scale of their prairie restoration efforts.

Partners include: U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service-Partners for Fish & Wildlife Program, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, and The Nature Conservancy working under the auspices of Minnesota's Legacy Funds. The Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment was passed by Minnesota voters in 2008 to: protect drinking water sources; to protect, enhance, and restore wetlands, prairies, forests, and fish, game, and wildlife habitat; to preserve arts and cultural heritage; to support parks and trails; and to protect, enhance, and restore lakes, rivers, streams, and groundwater.
