Biological Science Technician (Plants)

*Deadline: February 20, 2020

*Overview: As a Biological Science Technician (Plants) within the Southwest Biological Science Center, some of your specific duties will include:
-Conducts field sampling of vegetation of the Colorado Plateau with accuracy and precision using specialized techniques.
-Collects and prepares data and performs analyses regarding the environmental characteristics of plant species across the Intermountain West.
-Samples, prepares, and performs laboratory and greenhouse analyses of plant samples to characterize genetic variations and determine specific biological characteristics.
-Assists in tracking and archiving all biotic samples to be processed, and preparing correspondence pertaining to technical aspects of the work, enters, and checks data.
-Performs assignments in gathering, organizing, and interpreting biological, ecological, pathological, and/or other information pertinent to research studies.
-Operates a motor vehicle as an incidental driver.

*Locations: Flagstaff, AZ; Moab, UT

*Compensation:
GS 05 - 07
$34,916 to $56,222 per year
