De Angelis, Patricia patricia_deangelis at fws.gov
Tue Aug 18 09:20:22 CDT 2020

Presenters:
Mace Vaughan, MS, Pollinator Program Co-Director, Xerces Society and USDA NRCS WNTSC, Portland, OR
Nancy Lee Adamson, PhD, Senior Pollinator Conservation Specialist, Xerces Society and USDA NRCS ENTSC, Greensboro, NC
Christine Taliga, MS, USDA NRCS National Ecologist Pollinator/Invasive Species Specialist, Washington, DC

What will you learn?
In this first webinar in a two-part series, planners will learn about inventory tools and whole farm conservation planning approaches to enhance pollinator and other wildlife habitat. Specifically, we will give an overview of key pollinator habitat elements and tools available to help planners evaluate current conditions, and then discuss a variety of opportunities for incorporating habitat for pollinators and other agriculturally beneficial insects (natural enemies of crop pests) into a wide range of landscapes and practices. The 2nd webinar, scheduled for October 27th, will highlight how to plan and contract pollinator habitat. Guidance will help planners improve the long-term success of habitat plantings with adequate site preparation, implementation, and periodic maintenance, as well as assemble a suite of practices to make the process easier for landowners.

*** Please join the session 30 minutes prior to the start of the webinar. ***
