 INFORMING RESTORATION PROGRAMS FOR THREATENED AND ENDANGERED PLANT SPECIES

What will you learn?

results from SERDP and ESTCP funded research to improve restoration
programs for threatened and endangered species. First, Dr. Erin Questad of
California State Polytechnic University in Pomona will present a habitat
suitability model that incorporates microtopography to improve the success
of plant reintroduction, growth and survival. Demonstration results
validate the utility of the model to guide outplanting efforts. Next, Mr.
Matthew Hohmann of the United States Army Corps of Engineers Engineer
Research and Development Center will discuss expanded conservation
strategies and protocols developed from an operational-scale multi-year
demonstration of propagating and reintroducing endangered and at-risk plant
species at multiple southeastern DoD installations.
