Bureau of Land Management Wyoming State Botanist

*Deadline: 05/01/2018

*Overview: You will provide technical expertise and guidance on native
plant materials development work; the management of threatened and
endangered special status plant species; interpretation of regulations and
policy; use of technical studies, methods, and techniques; and assistance
to the field offices in accomplishment of botanical work. You will also be
responsible for the planning, monitoring, and implementation of the
threatened and endangered plant program. You will also provide technical
expertise and guidance on other botanical matters.

*Position:  Wyoming State Botanist

*Location: This position is located in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Cheyenne has a
multitude of cultural and recreational opportunities. Our Civic Center
hosts a theater season, numerous productions and the Cheyenne Symphony
Orchestra. The downtown’s renovated Union Pacific Depot houses offices, a
restaurant, and a transportation museum. During the summer months, the
Depot Plaza is the location for concerts, the Farmer’s Market, pancake
breakfasts, and more. Our parks system is the envy of many similarly sized
communities. The Cheyenne-Kiwanis Community House in Lions Park is the site
for conferences, reunions, and many other activities. The “Beaches of
Cheyenne” are located along Sloans Lake where one can fish, walk, bike, and
rent canoes or paddle boats. Two Lions Park features are the Children’s
Spray Park and the Brimmer Amphitheater.

*Compensation: GS 12 $73,375 to $95,388 per year

*Who may apply: All current or former Federal employees with
competitive/reinstatement eligibility; CTAP and ICTAP eligibles within the
local commuting area; Veterans' Employment Opportunity Act (VEOA) Eligibles
and persons eligible under Special Hiring Authorities (Peace Corps, VISTA,
Schedule A)
