NatureServe, a long-standing Plant Conservation Alliance Cooperator, has
just released a new web tool called SeedSmart
<http://www.natureserve.org/conservation-tools/seedsmart>.

This tool is designed to guide land restoration decisions for environmental
professionals across the spectrum, making it possible for land managers to
answer basic questions about the sites they are trying to restore, such as:
Which species are native here? What are the important soil characteristics
I should know about? Which plants grow best in this setting? Which plants
will be more likely to thrive under changing climatic conditions?

Currently, the beta pilot is only available for the Appalachian Ridge and
Valley region (central Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia,
Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, and parts of New York and New Jersey). But it
is designed to be expanded to other regions of the United States and Canada.

Would SeedSmart be valuable for the work you do?

NatureServe is seeking beta testers in the Ridge and Valley areas to use
the tool and provide feedback. Try out SeedSmart tool as a beta tester by
visiting https://SeedSmart-beta.NatureServe.org/
<https://seedsmart-beta.natureserve.org/> and afterwards, please send your
comments on your experience after using the tool directly to
SeedSmart at NatureServe.org
