Subject: Mid-term review of the GSPC

Dear all,

As you will be aware, a mid-term review of the Global Strategy for Plant Conservation 2011-2020 will be carried out at the twelfth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity in October 2014. In preparation for this mid-term review, which is being undertaken in tandem with the mid-term review of the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020 through the fourth edition of Global Biodiversity Outlook (GBO-4), a draft technical background document is now available for peer review.

This draft has been compiled by members of the Global Partnership for Plant Conservation in association with the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity. It can be accessed from http://www.cbd.int/gbo4review/. Guidelines for the review of the document and a template for providing comments are also available on this web page (these are the same as those for technical background documents for GBO-4). Comments should be sent by e-mail to secretariat at cbd.int<mailto:secretariat at cbd.int> or by fax to +1 514 288 6588, no later than 21 March 2014.

I would be most grateful if you could forward this message to your colleagues, partners and networks and encourage them to participate in the peer review process for the GSPC

Best wishes

Suzanne Sharrock
