<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#1F497D">As you will be aware, a mid-term review of the Global Strategy for Plant Conservation 2011-2020 will be carried out at the twelfth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity
in October 2014. In preparation for this mid-term review, which is being undertaken in tandem with the mid-term review of the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020 through the fourth edition of Global Biodiversity Outlook (GBO-4), a draft technical background
document is now available for peer review. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#1F497D">This draft has been compiled by members of the Global Partnership for Plant Conservation in association with the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity. It can be accessed from
