Trumpet creeper is native and beneficial to wildlife, but I have seen it
behave invasively, taking over entire meadow habitats and wiping out native
grasses and wild flowers, thus promoting a transition of the habitat type.
Native concord grape that is well established in woods seems to behave
invasively as it climbs trees to reach the sunlight in the upper canopy.
Sometimes the grape vines can take down trees, thus allowing more sunlight
to the forest floor and the spread of the terrain the grape may cover.
