Two New Pollinator Conservation Positions at the Xerces Society

The Xerces Society is looking for two people to join our growing
Pollinator Conservation Program. We have two new positions.

Our Pollinator Conservation Farm Bill Biologist (Eastern Region) will
work with the staff of USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service
(NRCS) to provide training and oversight of pollinator and beneficial
insect conservation efforts across the Eastern U.S. This position will
interface closely with NRCS biologists in the development of
publications and habitat restoration standards, including special
support to small farm and organic farm communities. The position is
based at the USDA-NRCS East National Technology Support Center in
Greensboro, North Carolina.

Our Pollinator Conservation and Habitat Restoration Specialist (Upper
Midwest Region) will provide technical support and training to
conservation agencies and farmers on pollinator conservation and
native plant restoration projects in the Upper Midwest. This position
has a special emphasis on direct native plant restoration activities
such as project planning, site preparation, planting, and ongoing land
management (especially of native tall grass prairie plant
communities). The position is located in Minneapolis/St. Paul,
Minnesota. For the right candidate, however, we would consider
alternative placement at one of our partner agency offices elsewhere
in Minnesota or Wisconsin.

Come join a dynamic team working internationally on invertebrate
conservation. Application deadline is June 6, 2011. For more
information on these positions and how to apply go to:
