Spring is here! Rejoice on Mt Tam with the basking turtles, mating
frogs, vibrant wildflowers and chatty bluebirds while helping all those
residents and human visitors by volunteering with the Marin Municipal
Water District.

Students Cycle for Earth Day
Wednesday April 14, 2010, 9AMto 2PM
Obtain service learning credits for school while restoring Phoenix Lake
during spring break! Learn to identify Mt. Tam wildlife and native
plants while helping to remove the invasive periwinkle plant. Bring your
lunch and then participate in a free off-road bike etiquette workshop
and group ride led by MMWD and Marin County Bicycle Coalition. Please
bike to the log cabin at Phoenix Lake by 9 a.m. The first 30 volunteers
to arrive are eligible to win cool biking gear, t-shirts and other
prizes. Volunteers must be 13 or older and bring a signed MMWD release
form if under 18.

Habitat Restoration
Saturday, April 17, 2010, 9AMto Noon
Earth Day continues with our work to remove invasive periwinkle from
the shoreline of Phoenix Lake. Meet at the log cabin at Phoenix Lake at
9 a.m.

Weed Watchers Training
April 10, 2010, 10AMto 2PM
Weed watchers survey trails and roadsides for new weed populations,
discovering invasive plants before they become well-established. If you
have an interest in botany, mapping or hiking consider joining our weed
watcher program and become trained in vegetation monitoring. Your time
and knowledge helps combat the threat of invasive plants on the
watershed. Weed watchers must be at least 18 years old. Call or e-mail
for an application.

Save These Dates!
Trail Days: May 1, June 5 (National Trails Day & BBQ ☺)
Habitat Restoration: May 15, June 19

All volunteers under 18 must have a permission form signed by a parent
or guardian. Send us an email for a copy. Dress for changing weather and
bring a hat, sunscreen, work shoes, your lunch, a water bottle and lots
of friends! We provide breakfast snacks, water, tools, instruction and
inspiration. Visit
