ABOUT THE INDIAN COUNCIL FOR PLANT CONSERVATION
INDIAN COUNCIL FOR PLANT CONSERVATION is a registered non-governmental organization established for conservation of threatened/endangered plants of Aravali Hills and Thar Desert of Rajasthan state through scientific approaches and the involvement of rural and tribal peoples of Rajasthan state. We are currently working to conserve the high valued medicinal plant species Guggul, which has become endangered because of its slow growing nature, poor seed setting, lack of cultivation, poor seed germination rate and excessive and unscientific tapping for its gum resin by the pharmaceutical industries and religious purposes.
