Draft automated grass identification keys are available for the
southern, eastern, and southwestern United States at the following URL.

    http://npdc.usda.gov/technical/plantid_wetland_mono.html

When used on-line, the species are linked directly to the PLANTS Plant
Profiles for additional information, such as images, distribution, and
Plant Fact Sheets. These keys can also be downloaded to your laptop to
take into the field.

Simple instructions can be found by clicking on the Help key. More
detailed instructions can be found by clicking on the "Instructions,
Information, Disclaimers and Policies" link in the header at the top of
each key.

Additional grass keys are being produced to cover the entire U.S. by
year end. Also under development are keys to the Fabaceae, Ericaceae,
All U.S. Monocots (wetland monocots are complete and on-line), and the
Gymnosperms. If you have specific questions, please contact Gerald
"Stinger" Guala at the NPDC.

Thanks,
   Scott
