[PCA] 2007 Red List and plants native to the U.S. and its Territories

On Wednesday, September 12, 2007, the IUCN launched their new and improved 
electronic 
IUCN Red List of Threatened Species™, which features new search functions, 
a more user-
friendly lay-out, and over 1200 new species entries.

Here are some statistics derived with only a little effort from the new 
list.  It should be noted that 
not all plant species previously assessed by the IUCN have been added to 
the electronic database 
(species assessed under pre 1994 criteria may not be included).  Many 
thank go to Nick Kulibaba 
(IUCN-Sr. Development Officer) and Julie Griffin (IUCN-SSC Network Support 
Officer) for 
"fact-checking" this info!
