Special Call for Proposals
A New California Garden and Landscape Design Paradigm: Strategies for
Minimizing the Use of Water
Note: This is a special call for proposals in a specific area of research
and education. The regular call for proposals will be distributed in the
fall.
Interested University of California academics are invited to submit
proposals for funding from the Elvenia J. Slosson Endowment Fund for this
special call. This special call is focused on funding research and
education projects that will have a significant impact on the use of water
in the California landscape. This may be accomplished many ways including
(but not limited to) the use of low water requiring and/or
drought-tolerant plants, improved landscape water use efficiency, improved
irrigation efficiency, use of recycled water, development, etc.).
Proposed projects are to be 1 year in duration. Projects will be funded up
to a maximum of $30,000.
Proposals must be sent via email and received by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June
25, 2004. Late proposals will not be considered.
