Adkins Arboretum on Maryland's eastern shore is sponsoring stipends for
research and two summer internship positions. Applications are due
March 1 for research stipends and March 15 for internships.

Research stipends are for postdoctoral, graduate or advanced
undergraduate research projects related to the conservation of native
plants of the Delmarva peninsula. Research in botany, ecology,
forestry, horticulture, plant genetics, landscape architecture,
geography or other areas supporting the Arboretum's mission will be
considered. The maximum award is $2,000. Awards historically have ranged
from $500 to $1,500. For more information please go to
<http://www.adkinsarboretum.org/stipend.html>

Internships are for two environmental science or public horticulture
interns. Interns will work with professional staff on garden
maintenance, plant propagation, and seed collection as well as plant
record keeping, plant community data collection, invasive plant removal,
grounds maintenance, and assisting with educational programs and special
events. Interns are encouraged to conduct an independent project in
horticulture, ecological research, or environmental education. Field
trips to area parks, natural areas and gardens and participation in
public programs are part of the internship. This internship is an
excellent opportunity to gain a broad range of experiences working in a
small non-profit organization. For more information on internships go
