Please RSVP to attend our third PCA meeting of 2024 where we welcome Katie Lautar, Executive Director, Baltimore Green Space, who will discuss “Baltimore Green Space and urban conservation”.

ABOUT THE PRESENTATION: Leading an urban land trust, spend a lot of time talking about the benefits of green spaces in cities and sharing out about how Baltimore Green Space (BGS) helps communities understand, protect, and manage small neighborhood forests, also known as forest “patches.” It’s gratifying to see how the model we’ve developed—which involves research partnerships, technical assistance and training, convening and community organizing, and policy development and advocacy—is gaining traction in cities all over the United States.

ABOUT OUR PRESENTER: Katie Lautar took the helm of Baltimore Green Space after seven years working as the Program Director. Born and raised in Baltimore, she came to this work through her love of Baltimore, nature, and communities. Katie has more than 16 years of experience in community organizing, designing non-profit programs, and creating educational programs. She earned a Master's Degree in Environmental Education from Lesley University, while living outdoors in different bio-regions. She earned her Bachelor's degree at Goucher College in Elementary Education with a Minor in Peace Studies.

This meeting is held remotely and open to all.
