Park, Margaret E margaret_park at fws.gov
Mon Dec 7 16:55:41 CST 2020

Pardon cross-postings. We have the sign in sheet if anyone needs to reach someone, but we don't share that publicly.

The meeting was hosted virtually via Microsoft Teams and was chaired by the PCA Federal Committee Chair, Patricia De Angelis/U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS).

Introductions were made. We welcomed a large number of online participants for this meeting. We apologize to those who were unable to hear or view the webinar. We are trying to address this for future meetings.

Featured speaker: Ms. Alyssa Samoy, Natural Resources Specialist for the BIA-Tribal Resilience Program and Chippewa Cree Tribe Member presented "Bureau of Indian Affairs and Native Plant Conservation.” The presentation began with a brief history of the BIA and its current organizational structure to include the Tribal Resilience Program (TRP). The presentation focused on specific BIA-funded tribal projects related to native plant restoration or Tribal education. Under the TRP , projects related to native plant conservation may be funded if they relate to the overarching tribal climate adaptation plan. Native plant conservation or invasive species should be outlined as key priorities of the tribe and add as one among other highlighted components stitched together as a cohesive plan by multiple tribal departments. The presentation and contact information are available on the PCA meetings webpage<https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.plantconservationalliance.org%2Fmeetings&data=04%7C01%7Cmargaret_park%40fws.gov%7C6220ffd02d3d4dc1b69b08d89af90722%7C0693b5ba4b184d7b9341f32f400a5494%7C0%7C0%7C637429741642232212%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=lqQUZXOuhth2y5lJHg3MxDEyyFC0gqy3s%2B9V%2FXmeEUI%3D&reserved=0>.

This interim report details how the study will be conducted to analyze the cycle of seed production for use in ecological restoration. The plan to conduct the assessment takes into account input received from federal agency representatives, city planners, restoration practitioners, seed suppliers, and others. The study is focused on the West but incorporates data from other regions when possible. This project addresses the first two objectives under the National Seed Strategy for Rehabilitation and Restoration<https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.blm.gov%2Fsites%2Fblm.gov%2Ffiles%2Fprogram_natural%2520resources_seed%2520strategy_quick%2520link_seed%2520stregy.pdf&data=04%7C01%7Cmargaret_park%40fws.gov%7C6220ffd02d3d4dc1b69b08d89af90722%7C0693b5ba4b184d7b9341f32f400a5494%7C0%7C0%7C637429741642242168%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=W3YiwPDVmjbutFyE8wBOIc4Hv3ySzNQfg7uzCUX07J8%3D&reserved=0>, which was released in 2015:
