Bioregional & Botanical Mapping for Farmers First:

Herbalists Without Borders Partners With Planet Drum Foundation

?

Herbalists Without Borders and the Planet Drum Foundation are?initiating a new cooperative effort this month to design a bioregional model for botanical mapping. Part of an implementation of the Farmers First Fair Botanical Trade program, mapping will be conducted in collaboration with Farmers First delegations in Honduras. Emphasizing local cultural values, community, and creative group process, the bioregional approach to mapping offers farmers the impetus to clarify a local vision for long-term planning while enhancing group understanding of local resource assessment and conservation.? Mapping projects in Honduras, to include private lands as well as public, protected forest areas, will be developed in cooperation with local and regional governmental- and non-governmental agencies, students, and local volunteers from participating communities in Honduras.

?
