Danna,

In my region there are many success stories on the utilization aspect. And this concept is not developed by the researchers .It is in use since generations by the local people.I feel these stories can be repeated in other parts of the world also.

Kudzu for example is considered as problematic weed in many countries. But it is a fact that in many countries including India Pueraria is a part of traditioal system of medicine.Every year our herb collectors collect it in bulk and sell it to the traders.Pueraria is also popularly used to prepare herbal dishes. It is commonly used as sex tonic. As researcher I feel that through the knowledge of one part of the world whole world community should be benefitted. Our healers say that regular use of Pueraria develops much resistance inside the body. And can play vital role in management of AIDS.If this plant is under the status of weed in any country we can share knowledge to include it in the category of useful plants. After all this is humanbeing who has declared some plants as weed and others as useful. For nature all plants are useful.

I am forwarding the details of sweet dish prepared traditionally from Kudzu.

Thanks to Bob for pointing out the risk of inadvertently contributing to the
spread of alien invasive plants by promoting their edibility. While I
appreciate the conservation intent, I doubt that it will be effective as a
conservation/eradication measure, and might also undermine hard-won progress
on public perception of the severity and urgency of the problem.
