Greetings.

I want to let MPWG members know about a radio show called "The Plant
Detective" produced by Montana Public Radio and the University of Montana Pharmacy
School. It's about medicinal plants, and has played in Western Montana once a
week since 1996. It's 2 minutes long, features one plant per show, and delivers
information with a dose of humor through a character named Flora Delaterre.
We've done about 130 shows so far.

I produce (write and narrate) the show with Dr. Rustem Medora of the UM
Pharmacy School. You can hear the show & find out more about it at my website
(which is new and still a bit rough, so please forgive), www.floradelaterre.com

Recently we put 52 shows on 2 cd's and mailed them to most public radio
stations in the country. The show is free, thanks to funding from the pharmacy
school and others, and I'm letting you know about it in case you want to lobby
your local radio station to air it (you would contact the station manager).
It's not a fit for all radio stations, depending on their format and schedule,
but you will probably know if it's a fit w/ your station if you're a local
listener.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. The show has been
successful here in Western Montana, and has been a good way to educate the public
about using, appreciating, and conserving medicinal plants.

Feedback on the show is most welcome. We're considering revising it in the
coming year.

Thanks!
