[MPWG] NC Medicinal Herb Conference in October

The 1st annual North Carolina's Medicinal Herb Conference, organized by
the North Carolina Natural Products Assn, will be held on October 27-28
in Asheville, NC, at the North Carolina Arboretum.  This year's theme
is: "Planting North Carolina's Medicinal Herb Economy".

Over 25 hands-on workshops and lectures will be presented during the
two-day conference covering propagation of medicinal herbs; propagation
of medicinal mushrooms, post-harvest handling and sales; organic
production; producing your own planting stock and seeds; commercial
production of specific medicinals like ginseng, goldenseal, black
cohosh, bloodroot, gotu-kola, Echinacea, Chinese medicinals; industry
regulations, conservation practices, and business resources; making
essential oils; making herbal soaps and salves; and lots more.

Keynote speakers: Joe and Terry Graedon from the People's Pharmacy
Guest speakers (to name a few): Tim Blakley, Scott Persons, and Doug
Elliott
