Great design, thanks! With apologies to those on this listserv who don’t live in Virginia, I am certainly glad to see that the new design covers up the partial nudity displayed on the seal J And now for a trivia question: what is the name of the plant that decorates the perimeter of the seal? Give up? Check out this source: http://www.statesymbolsusa.org/Virginia/seal_virginia.html I actually learned all sorts of things about the seal in this article.

A campaign to update the state seal, perhaps?

Should we start an Indiegogo for it? :)

While driving Interstate 70 in Missouri I was surprised to see a billboard that said "Enemy of the State" in big bold letters and seemed to depict green stuff... Then I saw that below it said stop honeysuckle.org . It turns out they are campaigning against the spread of Bush Honeysuckle in MO; see

http://stophoneysuckle.org/about-us/

Impressive to actually see a highway billboard for outreach! Cheers,
