23rdt USDA INTERAGENCY RESEARCH FORUM ON INVASIVE SPECIES

Tuesday, January 10-Friday, January 13, 2012
Loews Annapolis Hotel, Annapolis, Maryland

The Program Committee is pleased to announce the following draft agenda 
for the 2012 meeting.

Keynote Speakers

Dr. Michael Wingfield, University of Pretoria, .Global Tree Health: What's 
next?.

Dr. Roy Van Driesche, University of Massachusetts, .The role of classical 
biocontrol in protecting native biodiversity.

General Session Topics

- Hemlock woolly adelgid
- Advances in understanding the chemical ecology and trapping of 
Cerambycid wood borers
- Northeast Regional Project on Biocontrol
- Emerald ash borer/Asian longhorned beetle program highlights

In addition to the General Sessions, this year's program will include 
several invited and offered presentations on topics that are relevant to 
the issue of non-native invasive species:

- Implementation of phytosanitary standards in EPPO
- Thousand canker disease of walnut: developments and spread
- An unexpected pathway for invasion of urticating processionary moths in 
the EU
- Chemical attractants for Sirex noctilio
- Update of forest quarantine activities and new interceptions in EPPO
- What's new with Phytophthora ramorum?


Evening Mixer - Wednesday evening, January 11

Poster Display Sessions - The Tuesday afternoon poster session will 
include complimentary beverages. Posters will be displayed in a separate 
room and will be accessible for viewing through Thursday, January 12.

Poster displays on invasive species and related topics are always welcome. 
Please contact Vince D'Amico (vincedamico at gmail.com) regarding guidelines 
and space availability.

A limited number of openings are available on the Program for research 
presentations. Please contact me at mlmcmanus at fs.fed.us as soon as 
possible if you are interested in giving a presentation. If you would 
prefer to be removed from this mailing, please send me a message to that 
effect.

Mark your calendar to set these dates aside. Please share this 
announcement with others who may not be on the mailing list. Information 
on registration, hotel, abstract and poster guidelines, and the program 
will be sent to you in November and will be available at a new meeting 
website.
