All are invited to attend the 8th annual meeting of the Delaware Invasive
Species Council, from 8:30 – 2:30 on Friday Oct. 26 at the beautiful
Grassdale Center of Fort Delaware State Park, Delaware City. The $20
registration cost includes lunch, breaks, coffee and educational exhibits,
plus an invasives species quiz/contest with cool prizes.  Please remit a
check payable to DISC and return to Cathy Martin, Sec/Treas., DISC, 4876
Hay Point Landing Rd, Smyrna, DE 19977.  Deadline is October 17, 2007.  If

Directions

The Grassdale Center may be reached from the north by taking I-95 to exit 4
(Christiana, Rt 1 south).  From Rt. 1 south, *exit to 152 (Delaware City,
Rt. 9).  Stay on Rt 9 south through Delaware City (you will pass Kathy’s
restaurant on your right).  Right after you cross the small canal bridge,
the road will fork to the right (Polk Town Rd) which runs alongside the
bridge (DO NOT GO OVER THE REEDY PT BR).  You will see signs for Gov. Bacon
and Ft De/Ft DuPont State Park.  Go almost to the end of the road, the
center is on the right.  You will see red, white, and blue signs saying
“Fort Delaware State Park – Grassdale Center”.

From the south take Rt. 1 north to Del City exit and follow above *.

Meeting displays will include: Butterfly Bush Project (Liz Barton), CAPS
(Cooperative Agriculture Pest Survey), DISC (Bonnie MacCulloch), Gordon
Natural Area, West Chester University, Kudzu (Matt Frye), Mile-a-minute
(Ellen Lake), Phragmites Research (Harsh Bias), and Wildlife Habitat Garden
(Leslie Carter).
