Dear Karen,

My name is Anne Guézou and I work as a research associate at the Botany
Department of the Charles Darwin Foundation in Galapagos.
One of our programs here focuses on invasive exotic plant species. We
recently completed an intensive survey and have a good baseline of exotic
species present in the archipelago. We are also carrying out a risk
assessment for each species to prioritize action for control and
eradication, as well as control trials for a number of species.

We are investigating about the control of Paspalum vaginatum, a grass that
is invading and drying up some brackish water lagoons, classified as a
Ramsar site in Galapagos. As similar research and work have been done with
invasive grasses in wetlands of Florida, we were wondering if you could
provide us some information about this subject.
