Subject: Invasive Species Symposium

The 8th  annual meeting of the Southeast Exotic Pest Plant Council will
be hosted this year by the NC-Exotic Pest Plant Council and held at the
NC Museum of Natural Science in Raleigh on May 23-25. Please find
attached the symposium announcement and registration form.  There is also 
a photo contest, the information is at the end of this message.

We are nearly finished with the program, which will include a lot of
great speakers who will share the latest information on invasive plant
control. The full program will be available soon at www.se-eppc.org.
(Note that there will be the opportunity to receive pesticide applicator
credits.)

Announcing the 2006 SE-EPPC Photo Contest

The SE-EPPC is having the first annual photo contest at the 2006 SE-EPPC 
Conference in Raleigh, North Carolina. Winners will be announced during 
the annual conference (you do not have to be present to win) and 
highlighted on the SE-EPPC webpage. Unless otherwise noted, all images 
will be added to www.invasive.org photo archive and made available for 
educational and non-commercial use.

Categories:
Specimen - Close up of an invasive plant
Infestation - Landscape photo of infestations
Management - Chemical, Mechanical or Biological
Series - (2-7 slides) where a single picture just won't tell the whole 
story (for example, before and after shots of control efforts)
Humor - Capture the lighter moments
Other - For subjects that don't conveniently fit into another category

Submission of digital images can be made electronically by emailing 
bugwood at uga.edu. Slides, negatives (2"x2") or digital images (on a CD or 
other media) can be submitted either in person at the SE-EPPC Annual 
Conference in Raleigh, North Carolina on May 23, 2006, or by mailing them 
to the address below (Slides and negatives will be returned to the 
photographers after the contest). If you submit digital photos please 
submit them in as large a format/file size and as uncompressed as you have 
available.
