Good news! The new Invasive Plant field guides are being mailed to each
forest and prairie. The guides were produced as a special project via a
partnership between R9, SPF and NE Research. They are printed on
weather-resistant material with rings so and this first version includes
15 species. We are working on an additional 15 to be released a year from
now and hopefully more to follow.

We received enough copies to provide 100 copies per forest - I have about
500 copies in the RO to share with partners and for future requests from
all of you. I am sure they will go fast and cost about $11 each for this
initial printing. The guide is also available on the r9 nnis website at
http://www.fs.fed.us/r9/wildlife/nnis/invasive-species-field-guide.pdf ,
allowing people to print their own guide, download it to their pdr, or
bring it to their local printer to laminate. State and Private and Forestry
will be distributing to states through the State Foresters.

I provided the RO mailroom with labels with your names, but you might also
want to alert your mailrooms that they are coming so they don't disappear.
Let me know if you have any suggestions for future versions.
