<li><span>Thank you to everyone who participated in our first national virtual training! The recording will be available in a couple weeks and will be sent to everyone who attended. If you did not attend and would like to see it, send me an email with the subject
line "SOS Training Recording".</span></li><li><span>Target Species Lists and other Team changes: I know this year is proving especially challenging with the drought, so keep me updated on any changes to your species, estimated collecting numbers, collecting dates, etc. and let me know if there is anything
I can do to help you meet your goals.</span></li><li><span>Bend is almost done cleaning the 2020 lots and is ready to receive the 2021 collections. I will be sending out the final testing and balance results to 2020 teams when I receive them. For this season's collections, remember to let Kayle know when
you ship them, and always ship early in the week (never on a Friday!). You might see a client email come from Bend soon - this does not apply to SOS.</span></li><li>Herbarium Voucher tips:</li><ul>
<li>Please follow the guidance document and the label template on the website (blm.gov/sos) when sending specimens to Smithsonian. Small labels are hard to read, so try to keep the same formatting as the template (bolded header, at least 10 pt. font, and a
quarter of a page in size).</li><li>Be mindful of leaving space at the two bottom corners of the page so there is room for the labels. To avoid the temptation of collecting too much material, trim your newspaper a couple inches smaller than a standard mounting page (8.5 inches by 11.5 inches).</li><li>Good specimens are pressed as flat as possible and do not have any dirt on the roots.</li><li>If your specimen is very large (e.g., a grass) you can accordion/fold it several times to make it fit on one page.<br>
