<p class="MsoNormal">Land managers need a strategy so they can respond quickly and with appropriate restoration resources to landscape-scale ecological changes in response to severe weather events such as Hurricanes Matthew and Sandy, the serious drought conditions
and altered fire regimes across the country, and the fast spread of invasive species nationwide.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The <a href="https://www.blm.gov/sites/blm.gov/files/program_natural%20resources_seed%20strategy_quick%20link_seed%20stregy.pdf">
National Seed Strategy for Rehabilitation and Restoration</a> (National Seed Strategy), developed by the Plant Conservation Alliance (PCA) Federal Committee in collaboration with the nonfederal partners, provides a coordinated approach to stabilize, rehabilitate,
and restore public and private lands in response to natural disasters. Efforts to improve our Nation’s plant supply needs are grouped into four main areas:<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">This month the PCA Federal Committee launched a call for information on work undertaken from 2015 to 2020 that addresses or highlights our native plant materials and restoration needs. This will inform progress under the National Seed Strategy.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Please use the link below to share information on your efforts to respond to disturbances and other stressors that threaten ecosystem services in the U.S. by increasing the availability and use of appropriate plant species. Respondents
do not need to be well-versed in the National Seed Strategy to report progress -- the reporting form will walk you through it. Any basic or applied research that aims to improve ecological restoration in the United States or to develop tools or resources that
assist land managers in making informed habitat decisions <i>counts</i>.<o:p></o:p></p>
